Challenge: A Technology Integrator, who had a $75M commercial practice and a $4M Government Contractor practice, lacked employees with Federal Government Contracts knowledge. The Federal Contracting Officer (CO) was frustrated with receiving calls from the contractor for basic contracting questions. The CO was continually having difficulty communicating with the contractor, she felt their lack of experience was becoming detrimental to her job as she had to repeatedly explain the FAR to the company.
Solution: The contractor contacted Streamline to help fix this situation. Streamline immediately contacted the CO, and began to improve the contractor’s professional reputation. Soon, the company’s employees asked Streamline questions instead of calling the Contracting Officer. In addition, Streamline “spoke the same language” as the CO, reducing the CO’s level of frustration. Along with the Company representatives, Streamline attended all meetings when the CO was involved. Streamline also prepared the staff in advance.
Results: The contractor’s CPARS (contract performance ratings) improved each year. The contractor’s professionalism has vastly improved and they are positioned well for the upcoming recompete.
